A Week to go until the Big Give!

 

With a week to go we are up to £1,500 in promises - we still need YOUR help to help us tell everyone about Scene & Heard and The Big Give. Here are some suggestions on how you can help spread the word this week.



1. We are not planning on holding a sponsored walk next year, so why not email your contacts book to encourage them to donate to us during The Big Give instead – you could even offer to do something else in exchange for their donations!

2. Are you going to make a charitable donation instead of sending Christmas Cards this year? When you tell your contacts list about this you could suggest that they might like to do the same?  To Scene & Heard, obviously!

3. Perhaps it’s your birthday coming up, or some other anniversary or special date, and you want to encourage your friends to donate to Scene & Heard instead of giving you a gift.

4. If you write a blog, why not write one on your experiences with Scene & Heard -  and mention that we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, with a link to our sign up page for reminder emails.

5. If you work in an office (and it is appropriate to do so) why not send tell your colleagues about Scene & Heard, why it is important to you, and how any donations made can be doubled during the Big Give Week – we can let you have an A4 poster as a pdf if that would help.

6. If you are active on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linked In or any other social network, please like or follow us and help us share our message whenever we add any new content.

We will be adding to the films on our You Tube channel in the run-up to The Big Give to help you show your contacts who we are and what we do. As they are added please share them via email, Facebook, Twitter, Google + and any other way you can think of. 

Whatever method you use to ask your contacts to consider making a donation to Scene & Heard during The Big Give please encourage people who might like to donate to us to either send us a promise email or sign up via our sign-up page so we can remind them when The Big Give actually starts next week.

How to Blow Your Trumpet for Scene & Heard

To reach our goal a lot of people will have to donate on-line during the Challenge, Monday 5 December-Friday 9 December.  More people than we can access just from our little office!

So we need your help to contact as many people as you can to promise to donate.  Experience tells us that the personal approach is the best way to get people to give to a campaign like this. We want them to make a promise so that we can remind them during the donation week.

What You Can Do:

• Write an email to everyone you know – or feel you can approach – and ask them directly to participate in the Challenge
• Follow us on Twitter and retweet our Big Give tweets leading up to the on-line donation week
• Like us on Facebook and share our Big Give posts with all of your friends, adding your own comments and appeals as you go.
• Ask your colleagues and family members to ask their friends and colleagues to participate.
• If you blog, consider plugging the Christmas Challenge, and Scene & Heard in your writing – or at least link to us in your blog.

We'll post some email templates for you to use as a starting point in the next few days.

What Are You Asking People to Do?

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is quite complicated – we would prefer that anyone who would like to donate to us during the Big Give week sends us a “promise” email to thebiggive@sceneandheard.org in advance, or sign up using this Make a Promise page . The minimum donation is £5.

We will then send them a reminder before the week starts, with instructions and a link to the website to donate (it will not be live before December 5th).

Scene & Heard and The Big Give Christmas Challenge

Scene & Heard is participating in The Big Give Christmas Challenge – an opportunity for us to double on-line donations during the first week of December. Our goal is to raise £20,000 – more than enough to fund next autumn’s Playmaking One course.

Be An Angel – Give Scene & Heard a Christmas Present
If you can donate £5 online between Monday 5th December and Friday 9th December, The Big Give will make it £10.  £20 becomes £40, £100... you get the idea. The Big Give is complicated, we need you to make a promise to donate online so we can ensure Scene & Heard raises as much money as possible.  If you can donate click here: My Promise Email to let us know how much you want to "promise", or else sign up with our Make a Promise page. We'll send you all the details and remind you in time to donate.
